The National Fuel Cell Research Center (NFCRC), located at the University of California, Irvine, one of the nation’s top-ranked public universities, was established in 1998 by the U.S. Department of Energy and the California Energy Commission. The NFCRC facilitates and accelerates the development and deployment of fuel cell technology and fuel cell systems, hydrogen refueling, and energy storage; promotes strategic alliances to address market challenges associated with the installation and integration of fuel cell systems and the emerging hydrogen economy; and provides education and resources to the fuel cell and hydrogen communities
