Discussion Topics
This free workshop, provided by the PNNL Hydrogen Safety Panel (HSP) and other hydrogen and fuel cell experts, is designed for public officials and other stakeholders involved or interested in hydrogen as a fuel. The workshop will cover the uses, characteristics and benefits of hydrogen; review applicable codes and standards; explore safety considerations, and describe how the Hydrogen Safety Panel (HSP) can assist the safe and timely deployment of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, including fuel cell vehicles and stationary power systems. The Panel will share learnings from recent deployments of hydrogen fueling stations and describe how safety resources can support technology deployments. Potential funding opportunities will be discussed, as well as plans for projects in New Jersey. Feedback from stakeholders is welcome and appreciated.
The discussions will be led by members of the HSP, a multidisciplinary team of engineers, code officials, safety professionals, equipment providers, testing and certification experts, and representatives from NASA and U.S. National Laboratories, who are familiar with the safe handling and use of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. Qualified attending hydrogen project proponents and/or government agencies may apply for free follow-on HSP expert safety planning / review assistance.
