Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ:PLUG), a leading provider of energy solutions that change the way the world moves, today announced that it will participate in the 2018 Ohio Fuel Cell Symposium in North Canton, OH. The event is produced by the Ohio Fuel Cell Coalition, an organization designed to accelerate the region’s leadership in fuel cell technology. Plug Power’s CEO, Andy Marsh, and Vice President of North American Aftermarket Services, Tim Terrill, will present at the Symposium.
The Ohio Fuel Cell Coalition has attracted industry leaders to target economic opportunity within the state to support fuel cell technology businesses. At the Symposium, Marsh will speak about the growth and promise of the hydrogen economy in the logistics sector. From material handling and ground support equipment applications, to long- and short-haul delivery trucks, to autonomous vehicles and drones, Marsh will paint a picture of the hydrogen industry now and in the future.
Terrill, who sits on the Board of the Ohio Fuel Cell Coalition, will present about the rapid pace of hydrogen and fuel cell deployments throughout the state of Ohio. Plug Power’s success in material handling is emphasized in Ohio’s rapidly growing fuel cell corridor.
In total, Plug Power has commissioned almost 800 units in the state, including a long-standing deployment at Walmart’s Washington Courthouse distribution center. These experiences have allowed for the company’s rapid expansion into the on-road electric vehicle market.
Ohio has quickly become a leading state for fuel cell technology, with strong industry and academic ties to research and development, advanced manufacturing, advanced materials technology, components, and services. In addition, Ohio’s local and national congressional representatives have shown support for the industry enabling the creation of new, clean economy jobs for the State.
